The 4th of September was the day our journey began. The whole MYP4 year gathered to enjoy these four days spent together in a beautiful countryside. Surrounded by lakes and breathtaking landscapes, we had the opportunity to get to know each other better, as well as our school system.

This trip led to not only real friendships but also to creating a trustful community. However, let’s not get ahead of ourselves and fill you in from the begining.

Day 1

After two hours spent on the road, we finally reached our first stop which was the regional museum of Ostroleka. Inside we had the opportunity to learn more about a revolutionary battle between Polish and Russian forces.

The exhibition was outstanding not to mention the multimedia showcase which left us all amazed. The video helped us understand the chronology of the battle.

In the following two hours we arrived at our hotel, moved into our rooms and got to enjoy our first evening together in the resort.

Day 2

The second day of the trip turned out to be even better than we had expected. The workshops put together by our teachers taught us a lot about ATL skills, which stands for Approaches To Learning.

Moreover, we got the opportunity to find ourselves playing the role of a cartographer, since our assignment was to create a map of our surroundings.

Afterwards, our plans involved an hour-long boat ride during which we enjoyed the stunning views of the nature around us. That concluded our first full day of the trip.

Day3

On day 3 we were already pretty well integrated so we focused mostly on learning about school aspects such as the school website IDU, which also developed our responsibility skills and helped us learn how to handle things on our own.

We also visited the sanctuary of Our Lady in Saint Lipka where we witnessed a concert of the church organ. After one more hour on the bus we arrived at the petite town lying directly on the Great Masurian Lakes, Mikołajki, where we wandered around for some time. Back at the hotel, we enjoyed a bonfire accompanied by the MYP 5 that prepared many fun activities for us.

Day 4

The last day of the trip was filled with sadness but also a comforting feeling that the unforgettable memories that we gathered there will forever stay in our hearts. We took off from the hotel around 1pm and we arrived in Warsaw at 7pm. We said our goodbyes and went home.

I believe that our experiences during the last 4 days will be useful in the future, and that the trip will become a core memory for all of us. On behalf of all MYP4 students, we would like to express our gratitude to our teachers for all their efforts that when put together made this trip successful, unforgettable, and indescribably fun.
